MERALCO hates my block
I live in an apartment building in a small barangay that sits in between Buendia Avenue and Pasay Road, just a 4 minute jeepney ride from the Gil Puyat LRT station. Over the course of a few years of living here, I have come to the conclusion that MERALCO hates my block... and only my block.
Why?
Because every frickin' time the power goes out, it's almost, quite literally JUST MY BLOCK! The block next to us has electricity! The beerhouse with the live band that could never carry a tune has electricity! The annaul 2-month mini-fair ADJACENT to our building has electricity! Even the stinkin' taxi driver food shack that leeches from the power lines has electricity!
But our block?! No. Because MERALCO hates us. I get the feeling when the guys at the plant are getting bored and decide to play "shut down random power grids", they keep on "accidentally" hitting the grid "where that douche who writes about coffee lives".
I swear they just do it out of spite while laughing maniacally. And then they eat donuts and drink beer.
